Best Chassis?

Postby paul97 on Wed Jan 20, 2010 9:32 am

I was thinking about getting a new drift car and I was wondering what the best chassis out there is if there is one? I have a Losi Drift R right now and my wife just bought a HPI Sprint 2 that she is going to try for the 1'st time Friday. I have looked at the Yokomo cars last night but I don't know much about them.

to me yokos are nice cars but rare to find a part if u need it right then and there.the sprint real good if u have a good set up to it. im actually throwing around the idea of making my tc set up for drifting as racing is kinda lame since im destroying my competition to much

there's really no best chassis. Its all on the driver, but then if I get a chassis I would get something with strong part support from any of your local hobby store. Yokomo's have great drift chassis, but support is on the weak side. HPI racing has the sprint 2 which parts are usually available at any hobby stores, but the chassis is in constant tuning when drift and the setup doesnt stay consistant..

as for getting a sprint its hard to get parts at least from the hobbytown near me.but if ur gunna look into a sprint 2 id recomend looking at the cyclone chassis as it seems to work a lil more consistant then the sprint

Yes the cyclone is a good platform for a belt driven chassis. Its way too easy to drive and setup stays very consistant on any surface. For shaft driven chassis I suggest Tamiya tb03 drift.

love all my HB Cyclones (S, Black Ed., Moore Speed), i'm using the TC now. i've also been driving the HPI Pro-D for a few months, love the feel of this chassis, awesome drift chassis! i had to let of the Pro-D coz it was aging and i needed something new, it was passed from one drifter to the next and i was the 4th owner. i got the TC really fresh, used 3 times only during mall competitions.
