Round 6 Summary

r6summary.jpg

Round 6
Location: Speedtech RC
Date: August 18, 2007
Weather: Super hot

The heat was scorching, but it didn’t stop our drivers from putting up with the high summer temperatures to compete in the sixth and final round of the 2007 Drift Showdown points series. We returned to the location of our first ever competition at Speedtech RC in Walnut, CA. Everything was on the line this time, as this was the last chance for drivers to make or break the top 3 in overall standings for the grand prizes. Along with the usual festivities, Andrew @ HPI came out with a display booth, and even Thad @ HPI came to defend his Class-S win from Round 5. Many of our Class-B drivers not in the running for the top 3 positions elected to bump themselves up to Class-A, which was a noble decision on their part - obviously to help raise their level of driving by competing against higher-skilled drifters.

The BMW Z4 first made its debut in 2002 as the replacement for the earlier Z3 roadster. A few years later, the coupe version was unveiled, and it wasnt long before BMWs M Division went to work turning it into a full-fledged racing car. The result was the stylish BMW Z4 M Coupe Racing, which Tamiya now brings to you as the newest addition to their ever-expanding lineup of electric R/C cars on the reliable TT-01 chassis

Expanding RC DriftClub Staff

nob.jpg

We’re looking to expand our online staff. The first year has been good for us and the community (you people) who made RC DriftClub what it is today. We’d like to continue this success, but one thing Dave, Oliver and I learned so far is that it takes a lot of work - from shooting all the cool pictures, to making videos, to running events. That said, we’re looking to add a few enthusiastic, dedicated people to our online staff. For more details, click here. (Yes, the N.O.B. pic is random, but he’s the greatest, he’s my favorite driver, and I’m the one posting this story LOL)
