First of all, it’s an “HPI head honchos” (not Rodney, not Andrew, just blame it on our buddy Collin LOL j/k) do not like single car qualifying, so we CAN NOT do single car qualifying like Rounds 1-3. It’s not an option; basically we must do qualifying another way.

Second of all, Dave, Edgar, myself, and many of our drivers don’t like it either. It IS boring, it IS boring to watch, and we’re pretty much happy because we can now get rid of it. In fact, we already came up with a new system for future series and single events to where it will not be single-car qualifying anymore - BUT retaining the objective zone scoring so that qualifying will still be on the driver, and not a judge.

That said…

…we’re going to do a new way of qualifying which not only kills the boredom of watching one car at a time, AND it won’t affect the way points can be earned for this important final 2008 series round.

This is it! The final round of “Drift Showdown 2008″ and we’re heading south to HPI Racing USA headquarters for Round 4! Ever driver will step up their game for what can be the make or break event for the grand prizes! We will also have a Time Attack demonstration so everyone knows what’s going down at Round 5 in July. For 2008, RC DriftClub returned to Speedtech RC in San Gabriel, CA for Round 3 of our “Drift Showdown” 1/10 Championship Points Series. The heat was pounding down on the track, but as always there were exciting tandem battles - even with the love-it-or-not 360º in corner #2!

RC DriftClub in conjunction with HPI Racing / Hot Bodies, Redline Time Attack, and Live Sockets Entertainment present Drift Showdown Round 5 Finale!

We’ve extended the series from 4 to 5 events total, with triple brackets to up the ante and give everyone a chance to make the top 3 for grand prizes! We will hold this 2-day event on July 19-20 at California Speedway in conjunction with Redline Track Events and Live Sockets Entertainment. This will be a very special event for the R/C enthusiast as we will be in the presence of 1:1 scale Time Attack Cars! This also marks the final round for 2008’s championship points series. This 2-day event will also be the venue for the Season Finale, where we will hand out all grand prize packages to the series points winners!
